When we first started dating, Andrew and I decided to forego holiday, birthday and anniversary gifts. Mostly because that’s what I wanted. Partially because I grew up where time together during the holidays meant more than gifts, and partially because I get too excited when I find something for Andrew that I want to gift him that I end up not being able to wait for an occasion.
But when we were planning our wedding, I decided I wanted to start gifts on our anniversary. I’m sappy and romantic, so it only made sense to me to partake in the traditional wedding gift exchanges on our anniversaries.
Now, I also like to think I’m pretty good at gift giving. I take my time to find something that wasn’t thought of but life ultimately can’t go on without, that brings back good memories, or that is just simply where-the-heck-did-you-find-this awesome. So as our third wedding anniversary — leather — approaches, I’ve begun my search for the perfect gift. Something that isn’t traditional leather gifts, like a leather toiletry bag that he’ll use probably five times out of the year max. I did find some leather wall paper from Rebel Walls, but that may be a bit much. (And we’re still kind of finding our home decor style.) Instead, I’m on the hunt for something more his style that he’ll love and actually use.
And I’d thought I’d share some of the ideas I’ve come across. In case you’re looking for some leather-themed gifts yourself!
